KEITH O'TOOLE profile

I hold an M.Sc. in Interactive Digital Media from Trinity College, University of Dublin, Ireland (2006) and a Unity3D Certified Artist certification (2018).

As a professional web developer and creative designer, I developed projects in Flash and web 2.0 for high-profile Irish clients — including Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Diageo to name a few.

In 2012 I became a full-time game developer. I released two mobile games on Android and iOS and developed assets for the Unity Asset Store.

In 2014 I began VR development using the Oculus Rift DK2. I released Coaster in December 2016, which ranked No.2 on the Oculus charts for multiple weeks and surpassed 200,000 sales across all platforms. I self-published Coaster on Oculus, Steam, Vive, PS4, and PS5.

In 2021 I built a 32 core AMD Threadripper machine with an RTX 3090 for Unreal Engine 5 development. It has been amazing to have the freedom to work In real-time with all that Unreal offers when targeting consoles and high-end PC. It’s been an amazing and rewarding journey so far and I am excited to be working on LightSpeeders in Unreal.
